The Blobluoids

The blobuloids was my first attempt at making a flash game, theres very little actual code in the game as at the time I really didnt know anything about programming in flash, or programming at all for that manner. I purposely decided to go for an easy game to make, its basically just a mole bashing game with a few extras.
I had these blobby characters floating around my sketch book so they were scanned in and traced over to create all the artwork. I probably spent most of the time on the artwork as at the time I hadnt done an awful lot of drawing in flash so I really wasnt that quick at it. The whole game took around a week to make, it was also one of the first every games with in game adverts as I had stumbled on a company called Mochi Media who ran the first ever in game flash advert network. I was lucky enough to get ono their beta tester program and I think blobuloids was about the sixth game to be run through their system.
Considering how primitive the game is its been played a staggering amount of times, I think the last time I looked it was 12 million players and it still does around 5-8,000 players a day even now, 3 years after it was first sent out into the wild. Not bad for a first effort.
