Random Portraits : Jay as Edward Norton

The ninth seemlingly random portrait 12″ *12″ inches in oil on stretched canvas. This time Jay as Edward Norton in Fight Club, it only occured to me after suggesting Edward Norton to Jay that his character has no name in the film. Many thanks to Jay for the reference pictures as he did an absolutely fantastic job of getting into character even to the extent of not shaving for a week before he took the snaps !

Completely off topic but has anyone been watching “the Armstrongs” on BBC 2 at 10pm ? If you haven’t then watch it, its like a real life version of the office set in a Coventry based double glazing firm only much funnier. This week the managing director decided to unsuccessfully to sack his entire frankly useless sales team and then came up with the idea of a conservatory for dogs. His wife also suggested as a morale booster after he’d made one member redundant they take the team on a plane somewhere exotic…. like Blackpool or Bournemouth. It is truly superb telly.

P>S I still can’t get his bloody hands right !!!! GRRRRRRRR…..

Completing the trio Alan from Pennsylvania, seen here as Eli Wallache from the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
During the course of this painting I ate only egg and sausages, a tip I would pass on to any aspiring portrait painter.
Don’t add ketchup though it will ruin the composition.

Random Portraits : The Son of Groucho 2

Another one of Gordon from Scotland seen as a Harvey Keitel in Reservoir dogs.

For those who are interested in art statistics this painting is oils, painted 12″ * 12″. I consumed 14 cups of tea and ate only marmite and cheese sandwiches during painting this image. That is a valueable tip I would pass on to any one considering painting a man.
