bbc exhibition

No blogging for a while due to trying to get my self organised to hang up some portraits at the BBC Coventry and Warwickshire HQ in Coventry. The reception area is used for training and internet access for the public, I quite like it not being a gallery as theres always loads of people wandering in and about so they should get noticed by a few people.

They are there for the next 3 weeks if you want to see them in the flesh or you can see the whole project digitally on
the Random Portraits section of my main site . Also there’s a portrait painting tutorial in my tutorial section.

Venice Watercolour

Ok another girly Venice watercolour painting for GW as he has complained that there’s too many people pictures, some people its like they haven’t got anything better to do than argue with their wife over sandwich flavours.

I went on a trip a week ago with some trainers to Amsterdam (that is trainers as in people who train not trainers as in my shoes, I was obviously wearing shoes). To cut a long story long they started on about these psychometric testing tests they did on the people they had trained. It was the Myers-Briggs test they were on about. So I got back and looked up the test and there’s various flavours online and will match your test to a 4 letter combination.

Its kind of freaky as I have done 3 now completely different tests and have came out with the same result from completely different questions.

and this is the result “The classic temperament of an INTJ is Promethean, or Phlegmatic, for whom a basic driving force is the search for competence or excellence.”

Which itself is actually amazing, how did they know about the phlegm I had last week ?!?!? Or maybe it was just a touch of catarrh caused by my horse allergy.

Portraits : Barnze as Paul Newman

barnze_portrait.jpg

Another random portrait, this time Barnze as Paul Newman from the Hustler. This has been one of my favourites to paint as Mr Barnze was kind enough to send me some superb reference pictures. It was also the first time I have painted a real proper man’s moustache. I wish I could grow one like his, mine have all been rubbish.

This came about as I stumbled upon Barnzes Muse’s and made him a new logo one lunchtime. For the technical details it is oils on canvas 10″ *12″.
