A big old rant

Ok time to blow off some steam. Firstly another environmental issue, our local council is driving me “recycling mad” I have a bin where I put newspapers to be recycled, every month I fill an entire bin up with paper and newspaper, so you think he’s doing his bit. Well no actually as all the paper in the bin is junk thats been shoved through my letterbox. Yesterday I got 2 newspapers and 18 bits of junk mail, I didn’t read any of it and I didn’t want it anyway. If they stopped putting this rubbish through I wouldn’t even need a recycling bin.

So I suggest we all tape up our letterboxes. I have calculated that I am personally responsible for the destruction of part of a rain forest the size of Wales. Incidentally why are rain forests measured in size comparison to Wales anyway, maybe this is just a UK thing and in America all rain forests are measured in Florida units.

Secondly my trusty external drive died last week so I bought “the freecom toughdrive”, able to withstand a drop of 2gs’s from a height of 2.5 meters. Brilliant, well I thought so until it arrived, wrapped in 2 inches of polystyrene and then an out layer of 3 inches of bubble wrap. Which makes me quite suspicious of their “tough” claim.

Anyway i’m off to throw it from the bedroom window, bye.

Well its been a while since I did an update, anyway I read probably the most scary thing I have ever read in the sunday paper this week. It was a new book about climate change, if the temperature goes up 6 degrees in the next 100 year basically the only thing that survives is fungus.

This is the problem, after a 1 degree rise the polar ice caps reach the point of no return. They reflect 90% of the radiation back into space. Without them a chain of events happens, the dark oceans soak up 85 percent of all radiation and the oceans start to heat up in an expontial manner which leads to the permafrost layers in the northern hemisphere melting. This means more Co2 into the atmosphere which speeds up warming, a rise of 3 degrees means that the soil starts releasing C02 back into the atmosphere. At this stage the amazon has died and the result is basically the earth turns into a huge volcano thing.

Well I have come up with a brilliant plan. We all know we need to reduce the amount of C02 we produce, so I suggest we all hold our breath for 30 seconds a day. If we all did this it would actually save 4% of the output of total C02 produced globally.

What a brilliant plan !

One drunk Monkey

Well I go away for a week or so and I come back to this, my blog had been taken over by a monkey, he’s been putting up riciculous games on my website and even organised a tea party. However his tea party seems to have been mainly beer, although I do admire his taste as that is a very fine vintage of ale.

Anyway normal service will now be resumed, I have a backlog of slightly odd drawings to put up so I’m going to be colouring them in this week. I was looking at cool offices as research this week and came across possibly one of most the stupidest ideas ever, the conference bike. Instead of buying a board room table for your company you have a bike for 7 people, 6 do the pedaling and one does the steering. I would strongly recommend watching the demo videos as they are very nicely put together and also completely nuts.
