The smile drawn in pen and ink, the background is a photo I took of Paddington train station, it looks surprsingly evil now, more like the super lair of a super villian.

If you are in Coventry over the next few weeks then go along to the old tourist information centre to see “the urban lighthouse“, I’ve been working on the website for a while and there’s a few interactive things going up next week. The room will be filled with all sorts of art installations and there’s the opportunity for you to take part in some of the artwork.

There’s a map on the site to show you where it is and best of all its all free !

Rob Pongi

I met this crazy man after he added me as a contact on Flickr. He is Rob Pongi an American (Remember “American”, like all other nationalities, should always be capitalized) resident of Japan, I’d class him as part film maker, part comedian, part artist. His video’s can only be described as rather odd, slightly amusing and an interesting look at Japanese culture.

I would warn you that some of the content on the site should not be considered “work safe” as Pongi spends quite a lot of time in Japanese nightclubs where it is very hot and the women don’t wear much in the way of clothes. Pongi has obviously spent far too long in Japan and it has clearly effected him.

For a work safe video check out the airbag experience machine.

This weeks topic for illustration friday, JUNGLE. Pen pencil, sunday times and large bush image from where I used to work. Yes I was that bush, I had a small placement in Milton Keynes as folliage. I did the job for 12 months, it was good in the summer, plenty of sun, I did plenty of photosynthesising . Unfortunately it didn’t work out and I fancied a change of career.

Which brings me to another conspiracy, I found out the other day that money isn’t actually money ! Check your pockets, take a note out, its actually just paper. Remember this, next time you go into the local pub for a pint of Mild. what you are handing over is just paper. Everybody has been brainwashed to think that its money. Think about it, if Keith the landlord knew that it was paper he obviously wouldn’t pour you a pint of mild. He believes it that why he gives his beer away.

Imagine the panic if everyone knew it was just paper, I better keep it quiet. Shhh…..
