Digital painting for illustration friday rain topic. Completely drawn digitally except the raindrops which are a digital photo.
When I think of rain the first thing that came to mind was Harris Island. Harris is one of the islands in the outer hebrides off the west coast of Scotland. The beaches there have to be seen to believed, they are the best beaches I have ever seen anywhere in the world. Miles of sand and not a single person there, on a good day there’s no where better.

However it rains almost all of the time, which is why there’s no one there. I kind of like that though and even quite like being on the beach in the rain.

No bloody ice cream van though.

More portraits to come but here’s a quick doodle while watching the Swiss Vs Ukraine. Possibly the worlds most dire football match. Got bored of colouring on computer so got out my watercolour set to give it a quick wash over. Even though I do like what the computer can do for you it still can’t come close to using a real brush.

Has anyone ever noticed ths ? When you are at work and there are 2 of you round a computer 2 things happen.
Firstly the person who is using the computer can’t type anymore, you suddenly make spelling mistakes every second word. Also you become “screen blind” the person next to you will say “click on the make it so button” and you will search round the screen for the “make it so” button. You will not be able to find it unless the person actually points to it.

Why is this ? I’ll explain, all micrasoft computers are fitted with a proximity detector, when more than 1 person is in front of the monitor it actually adds spelling mistakes for you and also moves “the make it so” box randomly untill it sees a finger point and will relocate it in that position. Its very cunning and is another one the Technicians Union got added so that they can make you feel like a fool when they come over and it magically works for them.

The urban lighthouse

A project funded by the arts council to promote architecture week. I produced all the artwork and did all the actionscripting for the project and also the .php for uploading the images to the application.

It was a collaboration between 6 artists producing a variety of different artworks, my virtual tour of Coventry is in collaboration with Martin Clarke and Agathi Tsoroni. Martin went to various lighthouses and collected lighthouse noises to build a sound installation, Agathi’s project involved taking members of the public round Coventry with digital cameras and recording their journey by pictures. My project takes martins sound and some of Agathi’s pictures and plots them over Virtual Coventry.

To see the project goto the Virtual Tour.
