Random Portraits : Eithne as Sigourney Weaver

The latest random portrait I’ve considered finished, I’ve been painting this one for far too long and I think I’ve over painted bits of it. It was the first female portrait I’ve started and I found it much harder to paint than the male portraits I have done, not exactly sure why. Also the skin tones on this one I found really difficult and they just don’t quite work as well as some of the previous paintings I’ve done.

For the technical among you this is a 10″ * 12″ painting in oils on stretched canvas.

Robot A Day

BT_robot.jpg

No pictures from me today, I got this rather fine robot picture through the post yesterday from Bigtime at Robot-A-Day. I swapped 4 robot trading cards for this picture and he even kindly through in some rather cool robot badges.

What I really like about it (apart from the robot) is what he’s painted it on, it looks like its rusty metal and has a really nice sheen to it. Cheers BT.

The Underground

I don’t usually do much 3d work in my spare time what with it being 90% of the day job. I’ve been using my lunchbreak for a week to model and light this environment, it is based on various photos of different parts of the London underground stations. It’s not the finished article at the moment but I’m quite pleased with how it is coming on.

Many thanks to GW at the randomthink for getting me a load of great reference images for me to work from.
