Initial Colour

This image was again from a lot of photos I took while walking in the Peak District. I was intending this picture to be an impressionistic image as if done with a palette knife. I firstly quickly bashed out some blocks of colour using hard big brushes in photoshop.

Some Details

Next I reduced the brush size slightly and blocked in some of the main highlights and also airbrushed a gradient into the sky.

Final Details and cropping

I was fairly pleased at how the image was coming together, I airbrushed some clouds into the sky and added further details. To make the image look more painted and give painting some depth I made a copy on another layer, desaturated it, then I applied an emboss filter to the image. This was then applied as an overlay which works to make certain sections look pressed in and out. I also cropped the image as I was unhappy with the left side.
